FEVA U14s Win it All at the Willamette Classic!

The FEVA U14s went out with a bang at their final event of the season, The Willamette Classic Tourney in Portland, Oregon. This tournament, held over Mother’s Day weekend, is a favorite of players and parents alike. Families gather in a beautiful setting and collectively exhale after a whirlwind club season as the team celebrates the game they love and their amazing mothers.

The FEVA U14s played some fantastic volleyball on Day 1, sweeping their pool and winning each match in two sets. #6 Scarlett and #5 Lisa led front-row attackers with a hitting percentage near 0.300, and #15 Brynn was hot from the back row, hitting 0.250! This put the FEVA U14s in the Gold Bracket on Day 2.

They first faced a talented, young team who challenged the FEVA U14s, but they powered through and took the match, winning the second set 30-28. #28 Willa set the tone from the service line with a team-high 17 aces on the weekend with zero errors—that’s right, a 100% serving percentage!

The match for the title was against a fantastic team who took Set 1, 26-24. The FEVA U14 coaches challenged their players to stay calm, dial in their fundamentals, and use the grit they developed over the season to refuse to give up. The FEVA U14s began their attack at the service line where #28 Willa served 11 straight serves to put FEVA up 12-1. After a few quick sideouts, #2 Dee served another 11 straight, and FEVA took Set 2, 25-2!

It all came down to Set 3, which produced some incredible volleyball. There was no shortage of high-flying, hard-hitting, and dynamic digging on both sides, creating long rallies full of “ooooh” and “aaahhhh” moments! #4 Marley and #13 Camille provided key blocks in the third set, and the FEVA U14s pulled out the victory 15-8 to win the entire U14 division—the FEVA U14s took 1st place in Gold at the Willamette Classic! The team celebrated the victory with their moms—our FEVA moms are the best around! What a way to end the season!! Well done, FEVA U14s, and thank you to our incredible mothers! GO FEVA!
